College of Public Administration Signs Agreement on “Global China Studies” Program with School of Humanities and Social Science of HKUST

On March 11, Professor Zhang Yi, Dean of College of Public Administration of HUST, and Professor Cai Xinyi, Dean of School of Humanities and Social Science of HKUST, signed an agreement on "Global China Studies" Program to enhance cooperation between the two Institutions.



According to the signed agreement, the College of Public Administration will recommend no more than ten full-time undergraduate students to the School of Humanities and Social Science of HKUST for admission to the program. The recommended students who are in the third year or within three and half years of undergraduate study and have outstanding academic performance can apply for early admission to the program in their fourth year of university. After completing this program, students will be able to systematically analyze important social and cultural phenomena related to China and China's relationship with the world, interpreting China's past and present development from a global and local perspective. Students of our school who are recommended to the program and meet the graduation requirements will be issued degree certificate by HKUST after passing relevant review.


The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a public research university in New Territories, Hong Kong. The School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS) prepares students to become leading global citizens of the 21st century by cultivating the communication, critical thinking, moral reasoning, and analytical skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing world. With Hong Kong’s largest interdisciplinary program in the humanities and social sciences, SHSS courses cover more than 15 academic disciplines. The signing of this agreement would promote academic exchanges and the development of partnership between the two institutions and provide our students with more learning and exchange opportunities.
