Personal Profile

Dr Wang Fang, Professor. In 2001, she received her Ph.D. in Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She is a senior member of the China Computer Federation, and a member of the Information Storage Technology Professional Committee of the 5th and 6th China Computer Federation. She served as a member of the program committee of the China Computer Conference CNCC2005, The 2005 Workshop on Intelligent Storage Systems and Technology (ISST '05),  2006, 2008, 2010 and 2011 NAS, CCGRID2014 and the 14th and 15th National Information Storage Technology Academic Conference.

Main research directions include network storage, parallel storage system, parallel file system, new storage system based on non-volatile memory device, mass graph data storage and processing, etc

She has presided over two projects supported by National High Technology Research and Development Program of China(863 Program) (key programs), three projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project from Natural Science Foundation of Hubei Province, one project from Wuhan Applied Basic Research Program, one project from Shenzhen Science and Technology Program and a number of enterprise cooperative research projects. She is the technical backbone of 973 project "Research on the Organization Model and Core Technology of Next-generation Internet Information Storage" and 973 Project "Basic Research on Data Storage System Theory and Technology for Complex Application Environment", and the innovation team of the Ministry of Education, and participated in a number of key projects of the Ministry of Education, National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Special Funding Project and National Natural Science Foundation Key Project. She has published more than 100 academic papers in important academic journals and academic conferences at home and abroad, and authorized more than 40 invention patents. In 2002, as the main completer, she completed the National Natural Science Foundation of China project "Research on the Composition Principle and Core Technology of Directly Networked Massive Storage System", which was evaluated as excellent by the NSFC. In 2006, she presided over and completed the National Natural Science Foundation of China project "Research on the Flowing Operation Mechanism of I/O Request Processing", which was evaluated as excellent.

She won the Finalist Award for Super Computing 2006 Storage Challenge Competition held by the IEEE/ACM. In 2007, the scientific research team where she was a key member was rated as the innovation team of Ministry of Education and received rolling support from Ministry of Education. In 2000, 2006 and 2011, she won the first prize of Hubei Technology Invention Award. In 2001 and 2014, she won the second prize of National Award for Technological Invention. In 2018, she won the first prize of Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award.

Since 2002, she has 30 master's students who have graduated, 10 graduate students and 5 doctoral students. The master's thesis of one of the graduate students in 2005 won the Hubei Province Excellent Master's Thesis Award, and in 2015, her master's student Qiu Lina's "Research on the Single Point Fault Rapid Creation Method of Multi-disk Fault Storage System" won the excellent master's thesis of Hubei Province. The graduation projects of the undergraduates under her supervision have won the excellent bachelor's thesis awards of the school and Hubei Province for many times, and the master's and doctoral students under her supervision have won national scholarships for many times.
