Senior officials of Zambia from the training program organized by Chinese Ministry of Commerce visits HUST

On September 13th, the Participants from the Training Program for Senior Ministerial Provincial and Municipal Officials of Zambia visited the School of International Education and the School of Economics, HUST.


At the School of International Education, the visiting officials attended an exhibition that featured the achievements of HUST international students. Dean Zhou Liping introduced the international education at HUST, particularly about HUST’s efforts in serving the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and African development, and had in-depth discussion with these visiting officials.


 


At the School of Economics, the workshop participants attended a special lecture by Prof. Ouyang Hongbing on Chinas progress in green economy, where he shared China’s practices and insights from three perspectives, i.e., the reason why green economy was chosen, the necessity of green growth in China, and the new engines of economic growth in the current situation. He also interacted with the attendees to fully discuss issues such as Chinas economic miracle, Zambias economic development model, the role of financial institutions in green development, and carbon emissions trading.


 


The “Workshop for Senior Ministerial Provincial and Municipal Officials of Zambia”, a high-level training project organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), China’s Ministry of Commerce, aims to enhance the governance capabilities of senior officials in Zambia and provide a platform for exchanges and cooperation between China and Zambia in the fields of culture, economy, and commerce. The training program consists of 16 senior Zambian government officials, including Mr. Mwabashike Nkulukusa, Mr. Li Haoyi, the Project Director of the Executive Office of AIBO, also participated in the event and expressed his gratitude for the support provided by HUST.


HUST has been actively involved in China-aid training programs and has undertaken dozens of talent training programs for BRI countries.
