The 75th National Association of Foreign Student Affairs (NAFSA) Annual Conference & Expo was held in Washington, D.C. from May 30th to June 2nd. Jiang Jing, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), and Peng Yumeng, Division Manager for American, Oceanian and Asian Affairs, OIA, were invited to the conference along with the delegation sent by China Education Association for International Exchange and engaged in cooperative discussions with other attendees.

During the conference, HUST delegation had one-on-one meetings with more than 20 institutions from nearly 10 countries, such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, University of Wisconsin–Madison, University of Pittsburgh, University of Notre Dame, the University of British Columbia, University of Technology Sydney, the University of Auckland , Chulalongkorn University and etc.

During this visit, the delegation was also invited to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States of America and the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York, and visited University of Maryland, College Park, and Columbia University. In Columbia University, HUST delegation met with its Senior Vice Provost Professor Soulaymane Kachani during luncheon. As a representative of the Chinese education delegation, Jiang Jing delivered a speech on enhancing people to people exchange and cooperation between China and the United States.

The 75th NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo, as the world’s largest event dedicated to international education and exchange, attracted nearly 10,000 educators from all over the world with the theme of “Inspiring an Inclusive Future”. Approved by the Ministry of Education, this Chinese education delegation is the first large-scale education group sent to the United States for exchange after the pandemic.
