Research

Prof. Wu’s major research interests include:

  1. Safety of Drinking      Water, both in toxicology of water pollutants and purification of drinking      water.

2.      Toxicology of Environmental Pollutants, especially in antioxidants and its prevention to environmental pollutants.

3.      Pro-oxidation and its application to the chemotherapy of cancer treatment.

Prof. Wu’s research has focused on Toxicology of Environmental Pollutants. He has led two NSFC-funded projects to study antioxidants and its prevention to Environmental pollutants. Prof. Wu’s research has demonstrated that antioxidants can protect against the oxidative stress and cytotoxicity induced by almost all environmental pollutants. These findings may help to find out a method to decrease the damage from current environment pollution.

Prof. Wu is a member of China Drinking Water Specialist and studies both in toxicology of water pollutants and purification of drinking water. He has joined the research of 863 and eleventh 5-years projects of China in safety of drinking water.

Prof. Wu is a member of editorial board of Environment Health, and editor in chief of Guide to Experiments in Environment Health, the textbook of undergraduates in preventive medicine in China.
