Professor Li Renfu was elected as Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics

According to the information of the International Aerospace Annual Conference held in the United States on January 8, Professor Li Renfu of the School of Aerospace Engineering was selected as Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and was invited to participate in the award ceremony.



AIAA Associate Fellow is an important academic title in the international aerospace field. It is awarded annually to experts and scholars who have made significant influences and contributions in the field of aerospace science and technology. Only two scholars were selected in China this year.

Professor Li Renfu graduated from Beihang University majoring in aircraft design and received his Ph.D. in Aerospace from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. He returned to our university at the end of 2009 to engage in Aeronautics and Astronautics discipline construction, teaching and scientific research. His main research directions are new concept aircraft system design, aircraft control theory and technology, new energy power propulsion ,etc. Professor Li Renfu is also a Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

It is reported that AIAA was formed in 1963 by the merger of the American Rocket Society and the American Academy of Astronautics. Its predecessors can be traced back to 1930 and 1932 respectively. So far, AIAA has been the world's largest professional non-government, non-profit society dedicated to the advancement of science and technology in the fields of aviation, aerospace and national defense. ,with more than 35,000 members and 100 partner units from over 85 countries around the world.
