Welcome to School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). Our School is located on the main campus of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), which is nearby the East Lake and the Yujia Hill with a beautiful landscape of lush woods and green grasses. HUST is a Top 10 university in China and a Class A member of national "Double-First Class" Initiative. Since its establishment in 1953, our School has gradually become a vibrant community for materials innovation and education. The Essential Science Indicators (ESI) ranks 24 among the top 1‰ in the world. The university is ranked 28th in the Best Global Universities for Materials Science (U.S. News). The mission of the School is to be a world-class materials science and engineering talent training base, innovative research highland, international cooperation and exchange center.

Our School currently has 3 undergraduate majors: Material Forming and Control Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, and Electronic Packaging Technology. The School also offers graduate educational programs leading to master and doctoral degrees in Materials Science and Engineering. Our educational program is dedicated to being an academic eco-system for world-class innovation and education in materials science and engineering and to cultivating leading technical talent to serve in industry, academia and public service.
